Stop Motion

I’ve always had a fascination with the art of animation, so when lockdown hit I spent some of my downtime watching online tutorials and teaching myself how to make stop motion shorts. On the left is my very first attempt and on the right, my magnum opus (Warning: this one contains sexual content).

Acting

My Masters is in Acting, and I did a fair amount of theater and commercials (plus an appearance on Chicago Fire) in the years after graduation. My favorite project was a play at Raven Theatre—Melissa Ross’ Nice Girl—which earned me a Joseph Jefferson Award for “Actor in a Supporting Role” (pictured below).

Check out some of my acting in a satirical Onion spot I did a few years back, or in the Mirror Image campaign I created.

Visual Art

I’m not a visual artist by any means, but I do get a deep satisfaction from it. I also believe that switching artistic modes now and then can help an artist boost their creativity in their chosen medium.

Below is a watercolor painting of some dried flowers, a portrait of my cat, and a portrait of a face with found natural objects.
